All of India and Pakistan was a British colony. After WW2, Britain was struggling financially and couldn’t afford to keep the colony. So, it was split up between the 2 main religious groups: Hindus and Muslims.

India and Pakistan won independence in August 1947, following a long struggle. It was the largest mass migration in history of some 10 million. Nearly one million civilians died in riots and local fighting.

Pakistan is mostly Muslim. India is mostly Hindu.

After WW2 Germany needed to rebuild their economy. They encouraged Turkish immigration. Germany didn’t intend for the Turks to stay so they didn’t grant them citizenship. Many Turkish citizens living in Germany don’t have citizenship despite being born in Germany.

Darfur has been experiencing a civil war between the government military and various rebel militia groups. Sudanese citizens have been forced out of Darfur into Chad.
