Wild Life In Africa By Matthew Britten

Lions African lions are the second largest cats in the world. Lions eat baby elephants, giraffes, hippopotamus and Cape buffalo. A group of female lions are called a pride and a group of male lions are called a coalition.

Hippos Hippos rest in water to keep their temperature down. Hippos eat grass, water plants and vegetables. A group of hippos is known as a herd pod dale or bloat. The name hippo means river horse.

Wildebeests Wildebeests eat grass. Wildebeest can live for a few days without water. They numbered about 250,000 in 1960 and are thought to number 1.5 million today. link to website

Game hunting Game hunting is killing animals and they call it a sport. The big five animals are elephants, rhinoceros, cape buffalo, lions and leopards. There lots of websites selling flights to Africa to go hunting. For example African SkyAfrican Sky

poaching Poaching is when people kill elephants and rhinos illegaly and take there tusks and horns and sell them for money.
