A Dark World 2 Timothy 3:1-5 describes attributes of a dark world: Lovers of themselves – social media today, “selfies”, many celebrities show off their bodies Lovers of Money – Corporate fraud and employee theft cost companies estimated $20-$50 Billion per year. The typical company loses 5% of its profit per year to this problem. In 2013 there were 8.6 Million property crimes in USA resulting in $16.6 Billion in losses

3. A Dark World Proud – look at many of the athletes today and you will see pride. Abusive – In the U.S. there are 3 million child abuse cases affecting more than 6 million children. It is estimated that 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence. Disobedient to parents – illegal behavior, school shootings, now more than ever. Ungrateful – for our freedoms, what our parents did for us, this country, what God has done for us Unholy – ISIS and the rise of radical Islam in the world

4. A Dark World Without Love – Every day in 2013, 112 people decided to take their own life. As of 2013, suicide is the 10 th leading cause of death in the US. Unforgiving – people harbor things against each other, families are torn apart Slanderous – political campaigns, gossip columns, etc… Without Self Control - 40.7% of all births in 2012 happened out of wedlock

5. A Dark World Brutal – over 1 million abortions in 2011. Over 50 million babies aborted since the Roe vs. Wade decision Not lovers of good – Horror movies rank 7 th in movie genres, bringing in $413 million in 2012. 1.2 billion pornographic searches since 2015 began. That industry takes in about $8 billion per year Treacherous – There are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking worldwide

6. A Dark World Rash – up to 20% of a households grocery bill comes from impulse buys, 30-50% of all consumer purchases were classified as impulse Conceited – see politicians, and celebrities Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – moral guide is “as long as it does not hurt someone else and makes me happy then I should be allowed to engage in it regardless what God has to say about it”
