Text: James Montgomery, 1771-1854 Setting: REGENT SQUARE Tune: Henry T. Smart, 1813-79 Angels from the Realms of Glory CW # 80 Verses 1-4
18
Verse 1: Angels from the realms of glory, Wing your flight o'er all the earth; Once you sang creation's story; Now proclaim Messiah's birth: Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.
19
Verse 2: Shepherds, in the fields abiding, Watching o'er your flocks by night, God with us is now residing-- Yonder shines the infant light. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.
20
Verse 3: Magi, leave your contemplations; Brighter visions beam afar. Seek the great desire of nations; You have seen the Savior's star. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.
21
Verse 4 (Please Rise): Saints before the altar bending, Watching long in hope and fear, Suddenly the Lord, descending, In his temple shall appear. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.
22
Greeting Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. All: And also with you.
23
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Lord God, heavenly Father, we hear your call: “Arise, shine! For your light has come, All: And the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
24
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: We have seen your light in your Son, who said, “I am the light of the world. All: Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
25
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Gracious Lord God, your glory has risen upon us, for you have brought us to believe and confess: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
26
Dialogue for Epiphany All: The glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
27
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: You, our Father in Christ, have promised: “Nations will come to your light, All: And kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
28
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Therefore we ask you to fill us with a new love and zeal, so that there may be more and more of our missionaries at home and abroad to send out your light and your truth. Make your promise come true through us:
29
Songs of thankfulness and praise, Jesus, Lord to you we raise, Manifested by the star To the Magi from afar, Branch of royal David’s stem, In your birth at Bethlehem, Anthems be to you addressed, God in man made manifest.
30
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Yet, O crucified and risen Savior, give us grace also to be personal witnesses to you and your salvation. Give us the spirit of the psalmist who said: All: “I believed; therefore I said.”
31
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: As we hear you, O blessed Savior, say to us: “You will be my witnesses”, overcome our bashfulness and the fear of people’s ridicule and threats, so that we say with your brave confessors, Peter and John:
32
Dialogue for Epiphany All: “We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
33
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Make us like the early Christians who were driven out of Jerusalem by fierce persecution. Of them we are told: All: “Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.”
34
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Lord Jesus, “Open my lips, All: “And my mouth will declare your praise.”
35
Dialogue for Epiphany Pastor: Our Savior and our King, help us in our weakness, so that we not only say and sing, but also put into action the prayer:
36
Grant us grace to see you, Lord, Mirrored in your holy Word. May our lives and all we do Imitate and honor you That we all like you may be At your great epiphany And may praise you, ever blest, God in man made manifest.

As With Gladness Men of Old CW #83 Verses 1-5 Text: William C. Dix, 1837-1898 Setting: DIX Tune: Conrad Kocher, 1786-1872, alt.
62
Verse 1: As with gladness men of old Did the guiding star behold, As with joy they hailed its light, Leading onward, beaming bright, So, most gracious Lord, may we Evermore your followers be.
63
Verse 2: As with joyful steps they sped, Savior to your lowly bed, There to bend the knee before You whom heav'n and earth adore, So may we with willing feet Ever seek your mercy seat.
64
Verse 3: As they offered gifts most rare At your cradle, rude and bare, So may we with holy joy, Pure and free from sin's alloy, All our costliest treasures bring, Christ, to you, our heav'nly King.
65
Verse 4: Holy Jesus, ev'ry day Keep us in the narrow way; And, when earthly things are past, Bring our ransomed souls at last Where they need no star to guide, Where no clouds your glory hide.
66
Verse 5: In the heav'nly country bright Need they no created light; You its light, its joy, its crown, You its sun which goes not down. There forever may we sing Alleluias to our King!
