Advantages of SBTeach Save Time and Money –Class lists stay up to date –Class photo lists printed instantly –Change tutorials with a click of the mouse –Enter marks the way they come in –One click publishing to the web of Streaming and Marks –Bulk import marks from spreadsheet (Great for computer marked tests) –Instant analysis of entered marks

Advantages of SBTeach Security –Security is a top priority and has been built in throughout the system from the word “go” –All security is controlled at the server –No use can see details of any paper they are not authorized to see –All changes made to marks and all fields that affect marks are recorded automatically Accessibility –New users can be added quickly and easily –Standard system means paper can be more easily managed in absence of key staff

Brief History S2 2003 – Beta Version –6 Marketing Papers –2500 Student-Paper Enrolments S1 2004 – First Full Version –System Completely Revised from Ground up –All marketing 300 and below –3 Information Science papers –Automatic updates implemented mid semester S2 2004 – All Departments –Full implementation in Marketing & Tourism –Most departments ran at least one paper

SBTeach will not Do Everything… Plussage –Some scenarios are possible, e.g. submit any 3 of 6 –“Best mark” items are generally not –Ask, some things are possible… Can’t Record Attendance except as an assessment (which can be zero weighted) Many things are possible but may not be obvious, don’t hesitate to ask

10. What Now? Have a go with the demo database Browser the web site: www.business.otago.ac.nz/databases/sbteach Departments will request papers and access for staff members. Requests close a week before streaming is done. Staff will be emailed once system is up and will be able to download the client off the web site READ ALL EMAILS - they contain important information
