Factors that Cause Wind… ALL wind is caused by warm air rising in one location, and cool air sinking nearby… We call these blobs of rising and sinking air Airmasses An Airmass is a “chunk” of air that has the same temperature and density. Wind is a direct result of a Convection Current thats created by the rising and sinking airmasses…
