5 EU-Programme YOUTH Action 1.3 - Youth Democracy Projects the creation of networks for the exchange, development and dissemination of good practice in the field of youth and participation consultations by and of young people, with a view to find out their needs and wishes on matters relating to participation in democratic life information events or seminars or debates for young people centred around the mechanisms ofrepresentative democracy at all levels, including the functioning of the EU institutions and the EU policies

6 EU-Programme YOUTH Action 1.3 - Youth Democracy Projects meetings between young people and decision-makers or experts in the field of participation in democratic life and democratic institutions events simulating the functioning of the democratic institutions and the roles of decision-makers a series or combination of the above activities, which may be carried out at different levels (local, regional, national, international) within the time-frame of the project.

7 EU-Programme YOUTH Aktion 1.3 - Youth Democracy Projects Brief description of a Youth democracy project: Because this is a new action, this sub action 1.3 there is a free place for initiatives and ideas. Nevertheless, it's clear that a Youth Democracy project has to be based on a real partnership both at local and at transnational level. More technically a project should involve at least 2 countries with 2 local partners per country.

8 EU-Programme YOUTH Action 1.3 – Youth Democracy Projects The local partnership in each country should be composed by: A informal group of young people; A non-profit organisation or an association established in one of the programme countries; A local, regional or national authority involved in youth work. Target group: A minimum of 16 young people from 13 to 30 years old per project

9 EU-Programme YOUTH Action 1.3 - Selection criteria - - Quality of the programme and working methods - Diversity of actors involved in the project - Relevance of the objectives - European dimension of the project - Visibility of the project - Dissemination of results and follow up of the project

12 EU-Programme YOUTH Action 1.3 – Funding Eligible costs Eligible direct costs - Travel costs - Accommodation/food costs - Organisation of seminars, meetings, consultations, activities - Publications/translations / information costs - Dissemination and exploitation of results - Other costs directly linked to the implementation of the project Eligible indirect costs (7% of eligible direct costs) Financing mechanism t Percentage of actual costs 75% of the total eligible costs. (unless a lower % of grant is requested by the applicant) Maximum € 50 000
