chronic adjective lasting a long time; constant; recurring Chronic pneumonia can be dangerous to one’s well-being.

clairvoyant adjective having exceptional insight The fortune teller appeared to be clairvoyant.

commiserate verb to sympathize with; to feel sorrow for another’s suffering He could commiserate with her, having lost a pet himself.

deference noun great respect The students showed deference to their teacher.

demeanor noun behavior The child’s demeanor was shocking to the bystanders.

undulate verb to move in a smooth, wavelike motion The jellyfish undulated through the water.
