2. Page 2 Internal Community Goal: By June 2010, climate indicators supporting student achievement, such as valuing and respecting every staff member, shared- decision making and open communications will be at 90% or better for all schools.

3. Page 3 The Process: Staff had opportunity to take survey in October, 2011. Each staff or department met to form goals and brainstorm solutions. Survey offered again in April, 2012. All teams met to discuss final results. Developed baseline data to measure growth.

4. Page 4 By the numbers: October, 2011; 484 staff members( 60%) April, 2012; 636 staff members (75%) Majority of departments and schools saw increase in survey participation. Certified staff made up largest percentage of responses.

Each building staff met together, problem- solved, and worked on specific suggestions for improvement. –9 out of 14 areas showed growth –2 areas stayed consistent –3 areas declined Improvement Data

Page 24 Feedback provided by staff in May: –Missed having a comment section –Results hard to compare with additional staff members taking the survey in April and no way of knowing if the same staff took it both times. –Hard to make progress in such a short amount of time between surveys –Found brainstorming sessions useful –Every suggested idea can’t always be used due to confidentiality, power to change something, and resources needed.
