4 “They’re variously called the Internet Generation, Echo Boomers, the Boomlet, Nexters, Generation Y, the Nintendo Generation, the Digital Generation, and, in Canada, the Sunshine Generation. But several thousand of them sent suggestions about what they want to be called to Peter Jennings at abcnews.com, and “Millennials” was the clear winner.” Claire Raines Associates Managing Millennials 2002

Generation Y Characteristics of the generation vary by region, depending on social and economic conditions. However, it is generally marked by an increased use and familiarity with communications, media, and digital technologies. In most parts of the world its upbringing was marked by an increase in a neoliberal approach to politics and economics.

Millennials (Gen Y) A short overview of the characteristics of the Millennial generation (also called Gen Y) and implications to consider in Education. A project my friends and I made for a history class. It talks about this generation, the Millenials, and covers important events, popular media, and thoughts for the future.

Millennials (Gen Y) /extract/ This beautiful short documentary (approx. 35 min) opens a window into the world of a 17 year-old virtuoso, Relmi Damiano, already a talented photographer and artist. Relmi is one of a generation of people born between 1978 and 1994, known as Generation Y. Relmi's story is inspiring and her work speaks of a humanistic, global agenda that is too often lost in superficial judgments about self interest and restlessness. At a personal level, it will encourage us to consider our own perspectives on life and the emotional competencies required to see the world with fresh eyes.

13
4. Do you think you have showed respect to your parents?
5. Have you ever quarreled with your parents? 6. What is your quarrel about? 7. Suppose you were one of the children what would you do?

How to narrow or to bridge the generation gap:
Communicate with each other, try to understand each other 2. Have patience, tolerance, sympathy, respect 3. Put one’s feet into other’s shoes …………………………………… The key to bridge the gap is understanding and love between family members.

Letter Dear…, …………………….. ...I’ve just had a very unpleasant talk with my mom: she can’t stand the way I spend my spare time… Do you ever suffer from what they call ‘the generation gap’? Do you think I can cope with it or is it absolutely hopeless? What could you advise me in this matter? By the way? I’ve been surfing the net and this is what I’ve found on YouTube – it’s called ‘Momsense’…

MOMSENSE Get up now Get up now Get up out of bed Wash your face Brush your teeth Comb your sleepy head Here's your clothes And your shoes Hear the words I said Get up now Get up and make your bed Are you hot? Are you cold? Are you wearing that? Where's your books and your lunch and your homework at? …………………………………….
