Matter REVIEW
2
Rules A group will pick a question and have 30 seconds to answer. If they do not get the answer correct, the next group may steal the question. If a group steals a question, it is still their turn to choose the next question. When it is a group’s turn, they are allowed to discuss the correct answer with each other. Groups talking when it is not their turn will lose 100 points.

4
Heat Transfer - 100 The process when two objects transfer heat by coming into direct contact
5
Heat Transfer - 200 The process by which heat energy is transferred in gases and liquids.
6
Heat Transfer - 300 The process by which heat energy is transferred across distances in the form of electromagnetic waves.
7
Heat Transfer - 400 Why does an ice cube melt when it is in your hand? (Hint: must mention energy.)
8
Heat Transfer - 500 Give a “real-world” example of : Conduction, convection, and radiation.
9
Chemical Energy Solutions - 100 What is a solute in a solution?
10
Solutions - 200 What is a solvent in a solution?
11
Solutions - 300 If I am making a solution of kool-aid which part(s) are the solute? Which part(s) are the solvent?
12
Solutions - 400 Give an example of a solution and explain which is the solvent and which is the solute. (can not use kool-aid example!)
13
Solutions - 500 Explain, what is a solution?
14
Conductors & Insulators - 100 What is a conductor?
15
Conductors & Insulators - 200 What is an insulator?
16
Conductors & Insulators - 300 Name three examples of good conductors… be specific
17
Conductors & Insulators - 400 Name three examples of good insulators… be specific
18
Conductors & Insulators - 500 Explain why stepping from a carpet onto a tile floor, makes your bare feet suddenly feel cold?
19
Parts of a Wave - 100 The highest peak of a wave?
20
Parts of a Wave - 200 The lowest point or valley of a wave.
21
Parts of a Wave - 300 The distance from one wave peak to another wave peak.
22
Parts of a Wave - 400 This part of the wave shows how much energy a wave has. It is the distance between the center of the wave to the peak.
23
Parts of a Wave - 500 The ratio that shows how many waves pass through a fixed point in a given amount of time (usually 1 second).

Final Jeopardy As a group, decide how many points you want to risk Remember, if you miss the question, you will lose however many points you risk Each group writes their answer on a sheet of paper
26
Final Jeopardy Using complete sentences write out your final response… Explain what temperature is and how thermometers work!
