Procedure Subjects : Boys: 51 (KIS: 25 / Illinois: 26) Girls: 59 (KIS: 34 / Illinois: 25) Communication : G-Mails, Facebook, Skype Place : Schools (8:00~2:45) (KIS) 60~70% : sophomores Others : Freshmen, Juniors, and Seniors

Research Method Method : 1. Find someone who is currently doing the any after- school activities in KIS II. Ask why they are doing the activities Method : 1. Hand out the Research Sheet to the subject II. Collect the data after the subject finishes answering the Q#s

Hypothesis The majority of high school students in Seoul(KIS) participate in their after-school activities for hobbies(particularly in sports), and also because of parental demand and better college; however, it is hobby and friendship for the students in Illinois(Illinois High School) There are not much evident differences between two different genders

Conclusion For Illinois High School, the second significant motivation was majorly friendship, especially for girls. Most of the hypothesis was correct; the majority of students are doing after school activities for their hobbies regardless of gender and geographical differences However, the second significant motivation for KIS students was neither Better College nor Parental Demand; it was Others such as rewards.

Significance Although many high-schoolers study more nowadays, and tend to disregard other recreational activities than previous days; the best motivation for doing the after- school activities is Hobby Can assume that after school activities impact high-schoolers as a stress- eliminators
