8 Comprehension: Words that Connect Some words link one sentence to the next. They can also link one paragraph to the next. This helps your writing flow and make sense to the reader. 16 Bible Lesson: Hope In most texts, “hope” is a feeling. It is a wish, a desire for something to happen. In the Bible, “hope” has a specific meaning. It is a promise that something will happen in the future.

17 Bible Lesson: Hope Christians are promised that Jesus Christ will return. We have the “hope” of his return. This hope gives us strength to keep going in this life when times are hard.

18 Bible Lesson: Hope Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. I Thessalonians 4:14
