Greek Geography Greece is small (size of Louisiana) It is mountainous –These mountains isolated Greeks from one another, leading to very different ways of life. Seas –No part of Greece is more than 60 miles from the Sea. –Aegean, Mediterranean, and Ionian

Minoan & Mycenaean Minoan – Bronze Age (2800 BC) –Lived on Crete (King Minos) –Knossos was key city Mycenaean – 1600 – 1100 BC –Powerful monarchies –Trojan War (Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey) –After collapse, Greece entered a “Dark Age”
