Dealing With Uncertainty “…we do not know what to do…” 2 Chron. 20:12.

Times of uncertainty Silent Moment in life -nobody enjoys when God keeps silent on our situation and prayers! -When all keep silent on our situation, we begin to feel insecure and uncertain about it.

Two conditions of God’s silence  Sin –  Isaiah said “…So that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1-2.  Jeremiah complain “…that prayer should not pass through.“ Lam. 3:44.  David also realized … “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear”. Psalm 66:18.

 Our assignment/future  the supreme situation, Christ at the garden of Gethsemane. (Mark 14:33-36; Luke 22:39-44; Matthew 26:36-43).  Joseph (Gen.39,40) “He has made everything...” Eccles. 3:11.  Job (Job 1:6-2:7) “Be still, and know that I am God; …!” Psalm 46:10.

The uncertainty of Jehoshaphat He does not know EVERYTHING – He is limited (His best is not enough). The verse 3, “he feared”. He does not have the needed STRENGTH King Jehoshaphat said “…For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us;…” verse 12. He cannot control the FUTURE King Jehoshaphat said “…nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” verse 12.

Overcoming this uncertainty 1.Absolutely trust God and keep moving forward. “…, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them….” verse 15-16. “…, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward”. Exodus 14:15. 2.Seek counsel. King Solomon wrote more about seeking counsel than any other writer in the Bible. Yet the most wiser king ever lived. Prov. 11:14. 3.Have a plan before the Lord. “Commit your way to the L ORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass” In Prov. 16:3 and Psalm 37:5.

Conclusion  King David, in Psalm 17:8, “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings”,  In Philp. 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God…”  Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;…” “Be still, and know that I am God…”
