2. Introduction…
Although London remains the gastronomic centre of the UK, ethnic restaurants are very popular all over the U.K. Some of the best restaurants can be found in the most far away places.

3. Indian restaurants
Many towns have an Indian restaurant which serves curry and chicken tikka masala (chicken with curry). Dishes are usually accompanied by rice, usually basmati, with bread.

4. Chinese restaurants
Chinese restaurants are also very common; popular dishes include sweet and sour pork and aromatic duck.

5. Italian restaurants
Many people like Italian pizza, pasta dishes and parmesan or the classic Italian tricolour salad made with buffalo’s mozzarella, tomato and basil leaves.

6. American restaurants
In the U.K. there are Pizza Hut restaurants, which are fast food restaurants.
Typical dishes in American restaurants are: mashed potatoes and gravy, various hot vegetables, fried chicken, chicken wings, sausages. Hamburger and chips are also very popular
