3 Two Approaches Complete the fillable Form No. 549D PDF eXtensible Markup Language (XML) –XML is about structuring data –XML data are easily stored and shared You will eFile your fillable form PDF or XML file

4 Bird’s Eye View Staff reviews filing. If acceptable, can be accessed in eLibrary. If not Staff contacts filer 1-2 weeks after filling deadline Database is accessible on FERC website eFiled fillable Form 549D PDF Or validated XML file/PDF

5 Who should file Section 311 and Hinshaw Pipelines That provided interstate services If you didn’t provide interstate services during the previous quarter, you should still file the fillable Form 549D –Fill out only field numbers 1-18 –Make an affirmative statement in field 5

6 How to file eFiling only- no paper, no email Must use FERC’s fillable Form 549D or XML file that validates with XML Schema No look alike Form 549D PDFs

7 When to file Q1 2011 filing deadline is July 12, 2011 Q2 2011 September 1, 2011 Thereafter 60 days after the end of the quarter.

8 What happens to your eFiling? Our system checks mandatory fields 1-18 If data are missing or not in proper format, you won’t be able to successfully eFile Staff checks filing for quality of data If there are problems with data, you will here from us via phone or email You’ll be asked to make corrections quickly and resubmit filing.

9 Where can I view filing(s) Everything is public. In eLibrary within 24 hours- all submissions are accessible In our database within 1-2 weeks after the filing deadline via the FERC website- most recent filing only

10 Does it pay to file early Yes, staff will have more time to work with you to resolve any problems and questions on –Data to be entered –IT related issues that arise You will have more time to revise any filings and resubmit the data before the filing deadline.
