2 Overview BJA provides grants to support State, Local, and tribal jurisdictions in the area of corrections Grant initiatives include sex offender management, prisoner reentry, and Protecting Inmates and Safeguarding Communities Grantees may request funds to support technology- based efforts

3 Examples of Technology Initiatives Data collection system to analyze prison rape allegations Installation of video cameras in high risk areas of correctional facilities Computerized assessment system to identify potential sexual predators and victims

4 Examples of Technology Initiatives (cont’d) Data collection system to collect information on sex offenders Enhancement of the statewide sex offender registry and law enforcement Tracking System Software-assisted and uniform Case Plan module to improve integrated services, assessment and risk-level driven supervision
