Dan Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, 25. studenoga 2011. 5. Conclusion 3. ISEMIC application 2. Goal of the project Intelligent information system for monitoring and verification of energy management in cities (ISEMIC) Project is funded by SEE-ERA.NET PLUS Project Coordinator: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb Project leader: prof.dr.sc. Željko Tomšić, FER Zagreb This project has a goal to develop a software system called ISEMIC for utilizing energy consumption measurements, both from smart meters that can capture real-time data and traditional measurement devices, subsequent data processing and analysis to facilitate, upgrade and eventually replace the currently used energy management system. Data on buildings, energy and water consumption over last few years shall be entered into the ISEMIC database by each project partner as well as they shall establish smart metering infrastructure and connect it with the ISEMIC web application. 4. Results The potential impact of this project is very large and it would be a great example how significant savings can be achieved by systematic energy monitoring and management provided by the use of ISEMIC. ISEMIC will enable: use of smart meters within energy management processes for the first time in region, along with an analytical part which will enable intelligent estimation of energy consumption based; continuous updating and maintenance of information on buildings in the database; continuous entry and monitoring of consumption data for all types of energy and water in buildings; calculation of consumption indicators by user-selected independent variables entered in the database via preset parameters; monitoring and target setting for energy expenses and energy savings for a building or a group of buildings; report creation according to user preferences or templates. 1. Introduction Alpha version of ISEMIC web application is developed and installed on server; it can be accessed by following the link: http://161.53.66.25:8080/IsemicIntro/. http://161.53.66.25:8080/IsemicIntro/ ISEMIC architecture has three levels: 1.Web browser on the client side as user interface tool; 2.Apache Tomcat as servlet container; 3.Oracle database as data storage ISEMIC is upgraded version of Energy Management Information System (EMIS) in which an accent is put on creating a network of people regularly monitoring and manually entering consumption data in EMIS via the web. Also, EMIS has no smart meter input capability. These two missing features are the focal point of ISEMIC development. This flowchart shows the procedure of setting energy efficiency targets and their display on the graph. Goals can be set as: a linear reduction (percentage); a new line based on selected points of best efficiency or a new line formed on newly defined basis points. As the result ISEMIC generates target line equation. Energy and water consumption data of building complex belonging to Faculty of electrical engineering and computing (FEEC) are entered from bills during period from 2007 – 2010 into the ISEMIC application and some of the obtained graphs are presented below. The first graph shows the share of each energy type in total cost with tax for each year. Next three graphs show electricity, heat and water total consumption of whole complex of FEEC for each year. It is also possible to view total cost with tax, monthly consumption and monthly cost with tax for each energy type. Electricity consumption Heat consumption Water consumption Next graph shows monthly CO 2 emissions during period from 2007 - 2010 caused by electricity consumption. It is also possible to view monthly CO 2 emissions caused by consumption of other energy types. More grained energy and water consumption data will be available after the establishment of smart metering infrastructure which is currently in conduction.
