Acts 4:32 -35

The group of believers was one in mind and heart. None of them said that any of their belongings were their own, but they shared with one another everything they had.
4
With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God poured rich blessings on them all. There was no one in the group who was in need.

Those who owned fields or houses would sell them, bring the money received from the sale, and turn it over to the apostles;

God of difficult days, Some days are difficult for us, When it’s cold and wet, When we’re annoyed with our friends, When we feel like we’ve been told off unfairly, When we don’t feel like making an effort.
18
Help us on these difficult days to have faith that things will come right, that the sun will shine again, and we will get on better with each other again. Amen.
19
God of communities, There is a saying that says, ‘No person is an island’ This means that none of us can survive on our own.
20
Help us, God, to turn to others when we feel sad or anxious or alone. Give us opportunities to tell our friends and families how they can help us. Amen.
21
God of all whānau, Help our families when things are hard and we feel grumpy with each other. Help us to hang in there and support each other as much as we can. We know that everyone needs a helping hand sometimes – even our parents. May we be helpful members of our family. Amen.
22
Generous God, Help us to share what we have with people in our school community. Even if all we have to give is a big smile, help us to share that with others. Amen.
23
God of all things, We sometimes complain because we don’t have the ‘things’ we might want, like new clothes, the latest play station, or the flashest bike. Help us to learn that ‘things’ are not all that important and that people matter more. And help us to know that there are many beautiful things around us that don’t cost any money. Amen.
24
Listen to the following reading from the bible about appreciating simple things... Read Matt 6: 24 – 31 (paraphrased)
25
Reader 1: Listen well to what I have to say: Stop worrying about how you will live, what you will eat or drink, or what you will wear. God will take care of you.
26
Reader 2: Look at the birds in the sky! They don’t store up their food And yet God feeds them. Aren’t you as important as they?
27
Reader 3: As far as clothes and shoes go, why are you so concerned? Learn a lesson from the wild flowers. They don’t fuss and worry about how they look, and yet not even King Solomon was ever dressed so beautifully.
28
Reader 4: If God can clothe the flowers in the field With this much splendour, won’t God provide for you? Stop worrying then over what you are to wear... God knows all that you need. The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God
