Introduction The purpose of our presentation is to tell people about computer equipment. I will inform people about components of a computer. The people that I'm aiming my presentation at is students from St.Anselms aged 11-15.

Hardware slide Hardware is tools, machinery, and other durable equipment. Hardware is best described as a device that is physically connected to your computer — something tangible.

Keyboard slide In computing, a keyboard is a typewriter-style device, which uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as mechanical levers or electronic switches. Following the decline of punch cards and paper tape, interaction via teleprinter-style keyboards became the main input device for computers.

Mouse slide A computer mouse is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer. Moving a mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen.

Monitor slide The monitor is the piece of computer hardware that displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card. Monitors are very similar to televisions but usually display information at a much higher resolution.

Software Software means computer instructions or data. Anything that can be stored electronically is software, in contrast to storage devices and display devices which are called hardware.

Microsoft office Microsoft Office is an office suite of desktop applications, servers and services for Microsoft Windows and OS X operating systems. It was first announced by Bill Gates of Microsoft on 1 August 1988 at COMDEX in Las Vegas. Initially a marketing term for a bundled set of applications, the first version of Office contained Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Security A computer virus is a small program that can copy itself to infect computers. They were a problem even in the beginning phases of the internet. Today, there are literally thousands of viruses.
