4. Legislative Branch Established by Article I of the Constitution, the Legislative Branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress. The Constitution grants Congress the sole authority to enact legislation and declare war, the right to confirm or reject many Presidential appointments, and substantial investigative powers.

5. California Senators Our Senators for California are Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. They introduce legislation (Bills) to the Senate.

7. Homework Explain how legislation is proposed and passed in Congress.

9. Mock Congress Read over the Mock Congress and Bill information. Form committees of 3-4 students. Choose issues that you want to discuss and write.
