Intel ISEF 2012 – Educator Academy 5 Mission Statement Promote and fund scientific research and related activities having bearing on socio-economic needs of the country. Popularize Science in the country for the development of scientific culture. Until and unless science is not ingrained in the society, the dream of science and technological development leading to self reliance simply cannot be realized.

Please list the results you want to see –1 or 2 more province’ participation from public sector in the Intel ISEF affiliated National Science Fair. –Provincial Government to plan budget to support the Science research and related activities.

Intel ISEF 2012 – Educator Academy 7 Long Term Goals Revolutionize the education system at the school and college level to inculcate a sense of inquiry. Science education to provide a sound basis for scientific research and technological development in the country. Expand the outreach of the scientific research and awareness programs through Public-Private partnerships to involve rural and under severed masses in all provinces. Develop indigenous capacity of public sector institutions to sustain science promotion activities on a large scale.

Intel ISEF 2012 – Educator Academy 8 Short Term Goals Capacity building of science fair coordinators at School Education Department, Punjab Create a team of leadership for the School Education Department of Punjab to sustain the mega science fair project to hold 36 district level, 9 divisional and 1 provincial level science fairs. Support Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to built a science project for 24 districts all across the province. Capacity building of science teachers to develop and inculcate inquiry and research based methodologies in classrooms Increase mentoring program and holding science camps through Federal Ministry of Science & Technology. Increase the ratio of students opting for research based science subjects at high school level (grades 9 and 10) to 50% from the existing proportion choosing the science option which is about 35% Increase the number of finalists participating at Intel ISEF to 10 (6 projects), the existing number is 5 finalists (3 projects)
