Grades… They’re a part of life!  All assignments, tests, quizzes, projects or labs are based on points and the expectation of the completion of the assignment, etc. to the best of your ability.  Grading rubrics will be given for all projects, and most projects take place over a several days or more.

 Homework & Classwork: May consist of a reading assignment, a written assignment, or to complete a lab or assignment from class. Must be complete to receive credit. Receive 10 points for each homework assignment completed. Additional points are earned for each correct answer. If you’re absent, it’s your job to find out what assignment you missed, and to complete it in a timely manner.

 Labs & Projects: Must be complete, turned in on time, and directions must be followed.  Assessments(Quizzes & Tests): Quizzes can be both announced and unannounced. Both quizzes and tests can be written, hands on, projects, labs, etc. Retakes are given at the discretion of your teacher. Tests and quizzes missed due to absence need to be made up after school. It’s your job to make an appointment with me as soon as possible.

Homework / Late Work Policies  Homework is late if it is not complete at the time it’s checked in.  Late work loses 10% for every day it’s late. Late projects lose 50% of the grade for every day they’re late.(Work late due to absence follows school policy found in handbook.)  If you are absent, use the binder for your class to see what you missed, and ask a friend to help clarify. Confused? See Ms. Brandt after class.

 Definition of Incomplete: Any part of an assignment not finished when due.  In order to earn credit for an incomplete assignment, it must be completed and turned in according to the late work policy.  Lost worksheets will NOT be replaced. If you lose one it is your job to find a way to get the information from it, and to complete the assignment.

Important!!! All Tests, and possibly other assignments are sent home to be signed. These are considered homework assignments worth 10 points, and are graded as such. They fall under the rules of the late work policy as well. The purpose of this is to be sure parents are aware of the progress of the student.

Rewards…Yes, there are lots!  Good Grades!  Team Fun Reward Days!  Feel Good About Yourself !  Gain Important Knowledge!  Have Fun Learning!

And so….. And so….. The best advice I have for you is to be kind to others, be good to yourself, and no matter what, ALWAYS TRY!!! Decide to succeed, and you will succeed. If you follow my advice, ask questions, and give your all, you will be successful in not only this class, but all your classes this year. Just as importantly, we’ll all have fun while you do!

The End…..But it’s really just the beginning…..of a GREAT year!!
