The Beginning -in 50 AD Romans founded Cologne next to the river Rhine -at first the city was called Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensis (colony of Claudius and the altar of Agrippina), or Colonia Agrippina (the Colony of Agrippina)

The Eifel aqueduct -built in 80 AD -whole city was supplied with 20.000 cubic meters of water every day -It was one of the longest aqueducts in the Roman empire
