2. WHAT HAPPENED?  There was an explosion and sinking of the Deepwater horizon oil rig and it released 4.9 million barrels of oil into the ocean.  And it killed 11 people

3. WHEN DID IT HAPPEN  It happened on April 20, 2010.

4. WHERE DID IT HAPPEN  This happened on the coast of Mexico

5. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN  There was an accident with the oil rig

6. THE SOLUTION  Workers from BP and Transocean tried to find a solution to clean the water  They dumped 1.4 million gallons of various chemical dispersants to break down the oil into smaller droplets

7. THE SOLUTION  Making the oil into smaller droplets caused it to fall into the seafloor  This left the water less concentrated with oil.

8. THE RESULT  The result of this was deep-sea ecosystems were exposed to the dispersant oil mixture.  As of today, the Gulf of Mexico is clean of oil, but is still in effect of the harvestation and deep-sea environment.
