Expectations of children in Year 4 We respect ourselves and each other. We always tell the truth. We do as we are asked the first time. We work, talk and walk around quietly. We listen to other quietly and politely. We finish our work carefully and always do our best. We look after our school and everything in it.

School Uniform… ◦Sweatshirt with school logo ◦Cardigan with school logo ◦Navy blue trousers or skirt ◦Polo shirt with school logo ◦PE Kit: White t-shirt, black or navy shorts, socks, trainers, shoe bag.

Rewards and Consequences… Your child will start on green every morning and afternoon. If they stay on green for the half term they will receive a certificate. If your child makes a positive choice about their behaviour he/she will move up to either bronze, silver or gold. Anytime they move onto these they will receive a sticker. If a child achieves three golds in one year he/she will be invited to a special event at the end of the year. If your child makes a negative choice about their behaviour he/she will move down to blue, yellow or red. Blue behaviour will result in a warning. When Yellow behaviour occurs you will be notified. Your child may receive ‘Time out’ and be asked to reflect on their behaviour. Red behaviour will result in your child being sent to a senior member of staff and you will be contacted to discuss required action

Homework expectations… Homework will be given out on a Friday and expected back on a Wednesday. Homework will include a piece of maths and a piece of English. Children are also expected to complete their daily spelling sheet at home and bring to school each day. Please ensure children are reading regularly with an adult.

School Journals… This should be used by the children, parents and teachers. Please read through and become familiar with your child’s School Journal. It should be used for: Reading at home Spellings Communicating with your child’s teacher Learning tool
