1 Students imagine yourselves as authors. Your books are so good that they have copies of them in the school library! In this lesson students you will use library and alphabetizing skills to create a pretend book spine of a "book" that you have authored. Using a template page included in this lesson, each student will title their "book" and create the correct call number using the first three letters of their last name. Students don’t forget to include the section in your call number. For interest, students you may check in the library catalog to see if anyone with your last name has authored a book in the LMC. Then students you will need to locate the exact spot on the shelves where your "book" belongs; sliding it between the correct two books for the LMS to check. As a secondary project, at your table with your tablemates place the book spine in order. The Teddy Bear Parade E SIM Example Create one for an easy or fiction book.
