June 19, 2006Control of dangerous goods transportation in Latvia 6 Personnel 40 inspectors (~ 4 in each control area); ~1/2 of inspectors are employed in February – March, 2006; New inspectors have been trained in control of DG in May.

June 19, 2006Control of dangerous goods transportation in Latvia 7 Control of dangerous goods (1) RTI performs roadside checks in cooperation with traffic police. Customs and Police are also authorised to perform control of dangerous goods transportation. Control is performed in accordance with Directive 95/50/EC and its amendments.

June 19, 2006Control of dangerous goods transportation in Latvia 8 Control of dangerous goods (2) RTI does not control special requirements which are set to technical condition of vehicle which is implicated in the ADR transport. Does not perform dangerous substances sampling and testing procedures in laboratory. Police of Economy and Customs authorities have Laboratory. Liquidation of accident aftereffects is provided by Emergency Service
