5 The students will conduct interviews about state history. The students will learn about early Ohio settlers through the Oregon trail. The students will do a small essay about a famous ohioian. The students will pick a n Ohio historical event and examine documents the students will use maps to determine the most important environmental areas.

8 The students will do a report on a famous Ohio person. The students will use a diagram to distinguish the differences between the amish and their community. Create a timeline of african american influence in ohio. On a map locate the different indian tribes that lived in ohio. Create a list of important ohio people that have had national influence.

11 The students will create a map and a map key. The students will locate major land forms and waterways and compare them to the rest of the world. The students will compare the area of Ohio to other countries in the middle east. The students will examine Ohio weather patterns and compare them. The students will compare crops and resources with other states and countries.

14 Locating newspaper clippings the students investigate certain demands on products. Using a map the students will finds various resources in Ohio. Given a monthly budget the students will maintain and determine where the money goes. The students will do a report on the difficulties they encountered while using a budget. Students will investigate what resources are the most productive in Ohio.

17 The students will develop the laws of the classroom. The students will develop a peace agreement to be used when playing on the playground. The students will create their own Bill of Rights. The students will follow the local election and report on the issues at hand.

20 Have each student come up with a school plan that will give the students more rights and present to class. Determine between opinion and fact. The students will give me statements and I will write them on the opinion or fact side of the board. Divide the class into four groups. give each group an issue to investigate and the have them present it to the class.

21 Hold a class election. Have candidates speak to the class. Have students vote and give reasons why they picked the candidate. The students will write the mayor or governor about a specific issue. They will then give a report in front of the class about the response they received.

22 It is important that students understand the city, state and country in which they live. Through the presentation, I was able to give examples and web sites that will help develop students knowledge in social studies.
