Start by outlining the basic principles of communication.

You Have a Sender Who might be in a good mood or bad. Who might be running late for something or have all the time in the world Who isn’t sure how to get the point across or is very concise Who has a wealth of knowledge on the subject or very little
4
You Have a Receiver Who also may be in a good mood or bad Who might have too much to do in that moment Who has lots of plans for the day Who are hard of hearing
5
How Does this work! Verbal's: choose carefully… shoot/chute Non Verbal's: crossed arms, rolling eyes Par-language/tone: How we say it…what do you mean… Good listening such as eye contact Acknowledgement without interruption Mirror back the thought
6
Social Styles to Consider Analytical: Thinkers, controlled/precise, trust data, get job done correctly rather than relationships Driving: Control emotions, focus on the tasks rather than people & processes, quick to assess, prefer getting into the action rather tan analyzing Amiable: Think things through carefully do not direct others or impose opinions, ask rather than tell, warm & friendly, trust intuition more than facts Expressive: Highly assertive and action oriented, energetic, focus on people trust intuition more than facts & data, more time on relationships rather than seeing the job done
