The volcano is 1277 meters 4190 feet tall Base: 47 kilometers (30 miles) Has erupted more then 50 times after the large eruption in March 1944. The most recent eruption was in March,1944 The eruption began on march 18 and ended on march 24

Mount Vesuvius is an Italian volcano, which erupted on August 24, 79 AD. Mount Vesuvius is one of the largest volcanic eruption in history. Especially, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. The eruption destroyed 2 large cities near by. The eruption covered the two cities with more than 20 feet of volcanic debris. This volcanic eruption is considered one of the most dangerous eruptions ever to occur. The eruption killed over 2,000 people in the villages nearby.

Mount Vesuvius is a composite volcano. The volcano is very tall and steep. The volcano is formed by many layers of lava, ash, and other particles, and rocks. Mt. Vesuvius is/was the only active volcano on the continent of Europe.
