4 Course Overview Chemistry I builds on the key knowledge and skills introduced in general science (IPC). The goal is to develop in students critical thinking skills that would help them understand the world they live in. Here, students are engaged in laboratory activities at least 40% of the time. 6 Calendar Essential chemical knowledge and skills are divided into Units that are schedules throughout the year. Major grade tests occur roughly once every 3 weeks. Class work and quizzes as well as homework assignments count as daily grades. A printable calendar is downloadable from my webpage. 9 Notes for Honors/GT Student chemists are required to have an original investigative project for the UIL Science Fair. always be prepared to perform an experiment every meeting: wear proper clothing and close-toed shoes.
