The best way to always improve that is through training. Our association goal is to have fully implemented Training Home in all aspects of our work. 2

3 Excerpt from NSO: Training Home-Association Goal Each employee will have a job-specific trainings thru Training Home and will receive quality training delivered in a consistent manner. Completion of your Training Home is part of your overall performance review. 3

4 Excerpt from NSO: Training Home Essentials Your supervisor or Human Resources will introduce Training Home to you at hiring or shortly after. You are responsible for completing the trainings. Your supervisor is responsible for assisting you in this process and facilitating your successful completion of the trainings. 4

Your supervisor may choose to schedule a specific training for your department or have you schedule a one on one training with that specific trainer. 5

6 Supervisor Expectations: Training Home Introduce each new hire to Training Home at time of hire (while completing hiring paperwork – see New Hire Packet) New staff MUST register before working 1 st shift –Select appropriate supervisor, job(s), location Select “New Hire” job title Select “Supervisor” job title, if applicable –Complete “Before 1 st Shift” trainings before 1 st shift –Supervisors must then space training due dates out in an appropriate manner Training Home

7 Supervisor Expectations: Training Home Check Training Home at least twice a week –Check if new staff have registered Have they selected job(s), new hire, etc…? –Check assigned trainings Is anything missing? Does anything need to be removed? Are staff past due? If so why? Training Home

8 Supervisor Expectations: Training Home Check Training Home at least twice a week con’t –Check due dates assigned to trainings Correct dates if necessary Prioritize the trainings by assigning relevant due dates to help lessen the overwhelming sense everything is due right away. –Check notifications (use the read/unread filter) Some notifications require your response/action/attention/information Some notifications require no action, and are simply for your knowledge Training Home

9 FAQ: Training Home Training home How do I add an existing staff person to a new department? This is either employee or HR driven, the new supervisor is unable to do this. How do I remove an employee who is no longer working at the Y? HR will deactivate an employee once a PAF to terminate is received.

11 FAQ: Training Home Training Home Do I get paid to complete trainings on Training Home? Heck yea! All time spent on Training Home is paid time. For part-time, non-supervisor staff: **Trainings completed during a normal work shift, are paid at employee’sstandard hourly rate, under his/her normal department code. **Trainings completed outside a normal work shift (i.e. at home), are paid at the training rate of pay, under department code 100007.

12 FAQ: Training Home Training Home I am having trouble registering. Is the website down? Not likely. Try using Internet Explorer 8 or 9 or switching to Google Chrome to register. I have registered, but have forgotten my password. Can you tell me what it is? No. If you’ve forgotten your password, click on “forgot your password” and enter your email address. A password reminder will be sent to that email address.

13 FAQ: Training Home Training Home I have registered, but my job is not listed. Can you help me? Yes! Supervisors or HR are able to help direct staff to the correct job title(s). I have a new training to add to Training Home. How do I get it added to the system and assigned to the right positions? All new trainings are to be submitted to HR to have a review committee approve the training before it is loaded and assigned to staff.

14 FAQ: Training Home Training Home What’s new in Training Home since the last update? Lots of stuff, including compiled email notifications, deactivating employees, etc…updates & upgrades will occur constantly as the system is further developed.
