4  It is an ambiguous or roundabout figure of speech. In its most basic form, circumlocution is using many words to describe something for which a concise and commonly known expression exists.figure of speech  For example: a tool used for cutting things such as paper and hair: scissorsscissors

5  It allows students to stay in the target language when they forget or do not know a word  It helps students with limited vocabulary to get their point across  It develops language fluency, as students negotiate meaning
