True (T) or False (F), and Why Harriet Tubman was a scared, timid woman. The Underground Railroad was a kind of subway with tracks and trains. Tubman and the fugitive slaves were in great danger. The group didn’t sleep much during the escape. Tubman believed that freedom is very valuable. Tubman used a password to identify herself to the people who housed the fugitives. Tubman and the runaway slaves made the journey to Canada in less than two weeks.
