Classroom Procedures In this video clip you are about to watch, look for the answers to these questions: What is a procedure? Why are they important to have at school? What is your responsibility in our classroom procedures?

Entering the Classroom in the Morning Quietly come in and unpack. If you are noisy, then you can go outside and wait until the bell rings. Quietly come in and unpack. If needed, go to the restroom before the tardy bell rings at 8:45. Have 2 sharpened pencils, get homework and supplies organized, fill out planner, read AR book.

Lockers 2 students are assigned to a locker Each student has 1 shelf The bottom of the locker must be shared Keep your locker organized

Leaving the Room A teacher must know where you are at all times. Do not leave the room to go to the restroom or the clinic without a signed planner pass.

Stay in your seat You are not welcome to walk around the room whenever you would like. If you need to get out of your seat – you can only do it to get a tissue, ask a question, get paper, pencils, or a book to read. Do not get out of your seat while a teacher is instructing. Exception to the Rule--If you are sick or have an emergency, please leave the room quickly.

Pencil Sharpening Each student should keep two sharpened pencils and a good eraser in their pencil pouch at all times. Pencils should be sharpened at the beginning of the day. You may trade pencils if needed throughout the day.

Homework Read 30 minutes a day Complete reading log Finish any work not completed in class

Unfinished Work Each day, all your unfinished work should be taken home unless you are told otherwise. It should be completed and turned in the next day. Students who do not complete their work will receive the Opportunity to do so.

What if I’m absent When you are absent, you are responsible for getting the work you missed and completing it. You can get absent work from folders in the classrooms. If is due the following day. You may choose to go to Opportunity Room to finish the work instead of taking it home.

Finishing Work Early If you happen to finish your work before others, DO NOT DISTURB THEM! You may work on other work that needs to be completed. You may read AR or take an AR test

Classroom Community Be courteous. Words of gratitude go a long way and they are an important part of working together. When the intercom comes on, stop talking. Encourage each other when others are celebrated. Help each other to follow the rules because then everybody wins.

Classroom Community If I am not in the classroom, keep working as though I’m standing right next to you. Teasing, making fun of others, and being mean is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

End of the Day Procedures We will go over planners together. Start and end the day with reading. 1 table at a time will pack up quietly. Nothing on desks or floor. After announcements, you are dismissed by your teacher. Stack chairs and walk out of the classroom.
