Scope Exclude the old processes in raw materials, inventory and manufacturing. Introduce new company process for raw materials, inventory and manufacturing. Increase profits and consumer base.

Existing Processes Raw Materials Receiving Process Manufacturing with Inventory Process Final Product Shipping Process

Raw Materials Receiving Truck arrives at Riordan receiving area with raw materials. Receiving area supervisor compares shipping documents against scheduled incoming orders. Receiving area team unloads the truck and moves the raw materials into the raw materials area in the factory after validation of materials to be received. Receiving are supervisor gives log of all raw materials received during the day and associated shipping documents to the receiving clerk. Inventory clerk enters the information related to the raw materials receipts into the inventory system. Data includes type of materials received, the vendors, and the quantity.

Manufacturing with Inventory Process Raw Materials and sub assemblies are taken out of inventory. Manufacturing staff completes an inventory usage form to indicate the type of materials removed from inventory and the quantity. Inventory clerk enters the information related to the raw material and sub assembly usage into the inventory system. Manufacturing team builds subassemblies and final products. Complete inventory form which is given to the inventory clerk for updates into the inventory system. Inventory clerk enters information related to the subassemblies and final products added into the inventory.

Final Product Shipping Process Orders from customers come into Riordan via fax or phone. Sales staff place orders for customers. Sales orders are entered into the customer shipping and billing system. Based on shipping and billing documentation, the shipping department will load the trucks with the products specified by each order. Riordan has satisfied customers. Inventory clerk updates the inventory system based on the shipping documents.
