1832 It begin in 1832 when Joseph Plateau invented the Fantascope, or “spindle viewer”, that simulated motion. http://jlbmedia.com/video-production-history

1878 In 1878, Edward Muybridge captured a galloping horse, proving that all the horse's feet were off the ground at the same time.
