About Bocholt Inhabitants: ~71.000 Surface: 119 km² Located in the state „Nordrhein-Westfalen“ (NRW) Licence plates: BOR or BOH City with hystorical milestone in textile industry Very close to the Netherlands Background: Hystorical townhall, Bocholt

Traditions and Economy Boom in textile industry since 1871 until WWI (Bocholt is still known for its former industry) 114 textile concerns in 1914 Today known for small/medium-sized concerns which mainly produce maschines (e.g. Siemens, Spaleck, Grunewald-Group and many more)

Fahrradstadt Bocholt- Bycicle town Bocholt Nearly every citizen owns one or more bicycles „Cyclist-friedliest town of Germany“ in 2005, 2012 and 2013 Especially in spring many people ride their bikes in groups in so called „Pättkestouren“ Hint: pay attention for cyclists especially when it is warm outside!
