Course Curriculum & Standards  All course content is linked to 13 College Board Standards (approximately 40% programming).  AP Computer Science topics include:  History of Computer Science  Variable types and assignment  Object-oriented design and programming  Loops & conditional logic  Array & ArrayList processing  Inheritance & Polymorphism  Recursion  Sorting & Searching Algorithms  Programming, Programming, Programming!  Independent Research Project

4. Grading Policies 90 – 100% = A 80 – 89.9% = B 65 – 79.9% = C 0 – 59.9% = F Class Work / Homework 20% Labs 30% Tests and Quizzes 30% 1 st Sem – Final Exam 20% 2 nd Sem – Final Project 20%

5. Extra Help and Assistance Consultation and help is available before school (7:30 – 8:00) in Room 521, or during lunch and after school in Room 367. Students may email questions to Mr. O’Neill in the evening and weekends (responses as quick as I can get to them …).

Keys to Success  Be on time and be prepared for class  Participate in class and ask questions  Discuss concepts completely with partner  Complete and understand homework and labs each week  Come to tutorial (if more help is needed)  Study, study, study, practice, practice, practice for the AP Exam.  Try, try, try… Persistence pays off!
