9 2009 CITA Conference Device to read all available VIN’s stored in a vehicle VIN-cube is currently developed by Dutch Police Together with Police from E, UK, IRL, SLO Based on developments made for the Crash-cube Device to read data stored in vehicle during incident 30 seconds before and after accident From the VIN-cube a connection will be made with existing Police systems Via police a connection with EUCARIS functionality and technology Technical vehicle data + stolen signal will be used VIN-cube - Introduction

12 2009 CITA Conference EETS – European Electronic Toll Services Purpose of EETS: Citizen should have to cope with only 1 toll device, 1 provider all over EU Directive 2004/52/EC of 29 April 2004 - On the interoperability of electronic road toll systems in the community - General conditions - Toll Committee Commission Decision on EETS entered into force on 8 October 2009 Planning: 3 years for heavy vehicles, start in 2012(?) 5 years for passenger vehicles, start in 2014(?) EETS – Introduction

13 2009 CITA Conference Practical implementation EETS has just begun Every country has to develop a Toll Domain Statement with requirements for national service providers how to connect on a European Level Several issues - Technical specifications not ready yet - Cost Recovery Model and Business Case for service providers not clear yet - Enforcement unclear - Definitions - Language problems - New countries opportunities - Old countries threads and difficulties Practical implementation therefore very difficult within current time schedule For countries like FR, DE, PL, BE developments important For NL less important at the moment Registration authorities involved because of vehicle data registration EETS – Introduction
