6 Position Details Nurse / Administrator SKILLS NEEDED: Life experience/ AA degree in nursing/ Doctorate in Psychology JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Performance appraisals/ contracts Oversees nursing staff Summarizes incident reports Task oriented job WHAT IS AN ASSOCIATE NURSING EXECUTIVE?

7 Kathy is passionate about her job. Her favorite things about her job: 1.When she knows the veterans are being taken care of 2.Knowing the nurses are happy 3.Community feel of the VA  Common bond among the veterans LOVE YOUR JOB

8 BOTTOM LINE: I would not want to work at a hospital as my first choice. I love helping others I want a strong community I would like a career that allows me to be more creative. I need to use my language skills daily and as an administrator in a hospital I am not likely to use them very often. I want to be as passionate in my future career as Kathy is as a Associate Nurse Executive. ASSESSMENT

11 Position Details Supervisor SKILLS NEEDED: BA  Business & Economics Working on her Master’s RESPONSIBILITIES: Constantly works in a team of the assistant manager & manager Talks with all team members “spot coaching” Accounting/ finance oriented tasks WHAT IS A SUPERVISOR FROM THE (BRANCH OFFICE)

12 Personal story: Angry Customer  Allow them to feel heard  How can you partner with them and find a solution?  Solve the problem “YOU HAVE TO LISTEN BEFORE YOU CAN HELP SOMEONE”

13 BOTTOM LINE: Yes I would consider working at Navy Federal I love what Navy Federal Stands for Community & development is key I would prefer to do something less numbers oriented (a lot of accounting) I would like to use my language skills more often ASSESSMENT

16 Position Details Director of Communication & Admin Team Leader Assistant to the Lead Pastors SKILLS BA in Communication Problem solving RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees Admin team Scheduling/ logistics Partners with technology / social media Communicates within departments, within the congregation, social media, with the community & outside sources WHAT IS A DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION

17 Every day is different: 75% of her job is interoffice/ social media communication Technology is constantly changing Must stay connected and up to speed with technology Technology and social media is so prevalent in communication Technology & social media is an opportunity to reach someone. TECHNOLOGY IS COMMUNICATION

18 BOTTOM LINE: I don’t think I would like to work at CRB I love the atmosphere and community aspect Creativity Helping people daily Lacking daily language skills usage Love my church  wouldn’t want to work for it. ASSESSMENT

19 1. Love your job 2. “You have to listen before you can help someone.” 3. Technology is Communitcation. NEXT STEPS: Do interviews in marketing, international banking and hospitality industries to continue to fine tune my career goals. CONCLUSION
