3 3 Important information: u SOM 120 is not an operations management course – statistics are used in all options, including marketing, finance, accounting, etc. u As such, SOM 120 should not be used as a gauge of what will be learned in other SOM courses u To test this for yourself, we recommend taking SOM 306 before making a final decision on your option (as well as 300-level courses in other options) u (Some students take SOM 306 and/or 307 late in their degree, after which they wish they had chosen SOM as a major -- but by then its too late to switch.)
