Look at your social studies choices and determine if you want or need to take a social studies class in 10 th grade. HB5 limits the required social studies courses to 3 unless a student is on the Multidisciplinary Endorsement Plan. World Geography or World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics are required. A student on the Multidisciplinary Endorsement Plan must take both World Geography and World History. U.S. History has an End of Course Test associated with it and may be taken during the 10 th grade.

Students and their parents/guardians may work together at home to complete the planning process. Continue selecting courses to complete your 10 th grade year. Follow the same process to enter courses for your 11 th and 12 th grade years. Each student will enroll in 7 credits per year. Choose your electives to match your endorsement requirements. Make sure you have the required prerequisites for the courses you choose. Be especially careful when choosing electives. For more information regarding endorsements, recommended course sequencing, course descriptions and course prerequisites click the link below: http://www.nisdtx.org/Page/49196 Your Personal Graduation Plan is a working document and can be changed to meet your needs. The courses you choose will be used to schedule your classes. Schedule a conference time using the link on the NHS Counseling Web Site. HB5 requires that each high school review graduation plans with every student entering ninth grade and the student’s parent/guardian. If you have questions, don’t worry. Counselors will assist you during conferences.
