Why are we here? Objectives  To give you an opportunity to shape the PS Review  To gather your initial thoughts about where we need to improve Agenda  Working together  Why are we here?  Why PSR? - the challenge facing us  What is PSR all about?  It’s your opportunity to reflect and influence the shape and nature of PSR – so have your say!  Where do we go next?

The Rules of Engagement…  This is a ‘safe environment’: (a) everyone’s views are welcome and are respected, (b) listening to each other is key and (c) constructive challenge is encouraged (without fear of recourse)  We can share differing views and where we can explore the issues we are dealing with  We should aim to interact and everyone is encouraged to participate  This meeting is only as good as the contribution(s) we are prepared to make  Will focus on working through challenges and fostering collaboration between ourselves  Let’s turn our mobiles off (and keep them off)

Why are we here?

This review is as much about how we do things as what – and here we need your help We need you to …  Shine and lead others through the growth curve  Embrace pan-university team work  Demonstrate a commitment to the student and staff experience  Be willing to flex your team structures/boundaries and service portfolio  Give more frequently than you will receive (in the short term)  Manage risk(s) to the highest level of professional competencies  Communicate well with your teams – make it a two way process  Listen and love the academic voice!

The review starts now… After this meeting we need you to start to engage your teams in the review Tell your team 3 things about today: 1.The PS review is about creating a Professional services team that can work effectively with academic colleagues to meet our future challenges 2.We are in a planning phase – nothing will happen until we are clear about what we need to do 3.This change is about our future and we will all be asked to play a part Gather their initial thoughts and feed these back to your Director or College Manager: 1.What questions do they have? 2.What opportunities for change do they see? 3.What worries them We would like to hear back from each college and service in a month’s time
