It will introduce you to what we value at this site and what our client and Sodexo value too. We’ll go through who we are, what we value and will introduce you to the key people who will have an impact on your job here at Sodexo Remote Sites. We’ll also cover the benefits of working here and why we’re a great company to work for. Finally, we’ll introduce you to our Health and Safety Culture, what’s on offer from our Training and Development Team, and what we expect from you as a new employee.

Sodexo History Read Slide
Sodexho was founded in 1966 by Pierre Bellon in Marseilles, France, building upon his family’s sixty years experience in ship handling. Its early work involved staff restaurants, schools and hospitals. : Sodexho established activities in the Americans, Japan, South Africa and Russia, and reinforced its presence in the rest of Central Europe 1995: Sodexho became world market leader in food service thanks to alliances with Gardner Merchant in the UK and Partena in Sweden 2002: on 3rd April Sodexho shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange 2006: Sodexho, turned 40 and transformed a small family business into a global market leader 2008: The group changes its name from Sodexho Alliance to “Sodexo” Read Slide

Sodexo Remote Sites offers some forty services, from technical maintenance to recreation, medical care, waste removal and water treatment. We can operate internationally and specialise providing multi-services in harsh environments and difficult operating conditions. PPC Online PPC = Positive People Company (the provider of the service)
PPC is a programme under EAP Member-only website at Areas: Health and Well-being (e.g. nutrition, Stress etc) Personal Support (e.g. relationships etc) Work-Life (e.g. Change, retirement etc) Information, advice and fact-sheets Useful links to other sites Your confidentiality is assured, counsellors are bound by a strict code of ethics Your employer will not be informed Username: Sodexo P/W: Remote PPC = Positive People Company (the provider of the service) EAP = Employee Assistance Programme – the name for the range of services available The confidential helping or website will provide information on subjects ranging from debt advice and childcare assistance, to legal advice and benefits. Health & Safety Health, Hygiene and Safety All employees should be clean and presentable at all times in the interests of hygiene and personal safety. Employees must co-operate with all safety procedures for both Company and Client. When required, protective clothing must be worn and employees will utilise all guards or other equipment provided for their safety. Hygiene standards must be maintained and at the request of the management employees will submit to medical examinations. You will receive an Health & Safety induction and be required to sit Health and Safety and Food Hygiene exams annually. In this way, your knowledge and skills will be kept up to date. This slide explains our commitments to Health and Safety and describes your forthcoming Health & Safety Induction which will take place over the next 2 weeks. Read slide

Health & Safety - New Incident Awareness Sharing Format
New system initiated to provide more detailed information on safety incidents including pictures This is sent out to all sites shortly after the incident to improve shared learning and avoid recurrence at all units and to ensure timely shared learning

Training and Development
GREAT! box This is a training kit for team member development. Inside the GREAT! Box you will find inner wallets that contain information and activity cards that can be used to train front line team members in line with key areas of our work. The GREAT! Box health and safety induction covers 16 essential areas that need to be completed in your first two weeks. Managers and team members can also discuss which other cards need to be completed depending on the needs of the team. Training Plan Each quarter training plans are forwarded to all sites. What Sodexo Expect From You
We encourage you to enjoy your work and the experience of working with each other in a team, however we will not tolerate: Pranks and practical jokes: can result in the those targeted feeling intimidated and humiliated, may present unacceptable risks to the health and safety of all parties involved, and will expose the Company to several serious risks. Harassment and Bullying: “Harassment is any unwanted physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct which has the purpose or effect of diminishing an employee’s dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment” We will now watch the Dignity at Work film….
