Chapter 11 book 2 A Companion Picture Significance of the title: The significance is that Stryver is announcing him getting married to Lucie, to Carton. He is making a picture of his life and his future companionship

Plot Summary Late one night, Carton and Stryver work in Stryver’s chambers. Stryver announces that he intends to marry Lucie, in an arrogant way. Carton drinks a bunch at the news, assuring Stryver that his words have not upset him. Stryver implies that himself find “some respectable woman with a little property,” and marry her, or he will end up poor and sick.
