Answers – from the mark scheme Q.1 Award 2 marks each for the correct treatment of both a cut and a burn. (i) a cut – wash, dry and apply a blue (detectable) waterproof plaster. If bleeding persists apply pressure. (Clean or wash & covered. No colour only 1). (ii) a burn – run under COLD running water for at least 10 minutes or until stinging sensation stops. For fat burns or burns larger than a 10p piece, seek medical help. (If no time – award 1) [2]
