You will need to research what street art is and how it differs from graffiti. You are required to analyse one of his works and give a brief statement as to why you believe it to be street art/graffiti. In your essay you should include information on: Banksy and his art What street art is How Banksy’s work is reflected in society The difference between graffiti, vandalism, and street art Then form your own opinion on whether you think street art is a form of art or vandalism You will need to back up your opinion with information from at least three credible sources (not wikipedia).

It can be used to welcome students to the notion of street art - a more unconventional style of art that they will not be very familiar with. This lesson defines and raises discussion about street art and its most beloved producer, Banksy. Students will be required to analyse his work, ad form their own opinion on whether or not his work is art or vandalism. Students will be graded on their understanding and justification of street art.
